Formats and limits
What SwypeCast accepts and how to get the best out of it.
Video
- File types: MP4, MOV, WebM.
- Size: up to 500 MB per file.
- Length: at most 90 seconds per clip.
- Format: vertical 9:16 (1080 × 1920). Landscape and 4:5 are shown but do not fill the stage.
- Too long or too big? When you upload to the library, the studio cuts a video that is too long to 90 seconds and re-encodes a file that is too big, right in the browser. A message tells you what happened. This needs a current browser; otherwise you get a note.
- After the upload the video is converted and delivered as a stream in several qualities. The player picks the right one automatically.
Audio
- File types: MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV.
- Size: up to 50 MB. Length: at most 90 seconds.
Images
- File types: JPG, PNG, WebP. Size: up to 20 MB; the studio saves a heavier image smaller.
- As a clip image ideally 1080 × 1920. Other formats are shown whole, with a soft background.
- As a custom preview image also 9:16.
Preview images
Without your own choice SwypeCast takes the first non-black frame from second 0.5. In the clip editor you can pick any other frame or upload an image.
Browsers
The player runs in all current browsers on phone, tablet and computer, including the in-app browsers of Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. No plugin and no app needed.
What counts as a view
A view is one clip watched. Views count towards your monthly limit, see Plans and trial.
