Content rules and checks

SwypeCast is in the app stores and shows content from many organisations. The same rules therefore apply to everyone, and every image and every video is checked automatically after upload. What exactly is prohibited is in the Terms of use under section 4; in short: no pornography, no glorification of violence, no hate, no harassment, nothing illegal, no spam. This applies equally to uploaded and AI-generated content.

The automatic check

  1. After every upload and every AI generation, an image recognition service (Amazon Rekognition, Frankfurt data centre) looks at the picture; for a video, at still frames roughly every three seconds. Only the pictures are transmitted, no details about you or your organisation.
  2. A clear violation is blocked immediately: the clip is not delivered anywhere, not in the player, not in the feed, not in embeds and not as an ad. In the library it carries the badge Blocked, its page shows a notice, and you receive an e-mail.
  3. A borderline case keeps playing but is submitted to a person at SwypeCast for review. The library shows Under review. The person clears or blocks the clip; you get a mail about that too.

Reports from viewers

Any viewer can report a story via the flag at the top right and any comment via Report in the comments window. The report goes to your moderators (the addresses from Settings → Moderation) and to SwypeCast. SwypeCast reviews reported content within 24 hours and removes it in case of a violation; serious or repeated violations can lead to the organisation being suspended.

Comments

For comments your own moderation remains decisive, see Reactions and comments. Two things always apply though: a comment the pre-screening classifies as hateful, sexual or threatening is never published without your approval, and you can exclude a viewer from all your stories with Block.
