SwypeCast as an app on your phone
You can put SwypeCast on your home screen like an app, without an app store. It then opens full screen in portrait, without an address bar, with the SwypeCast icon.
Where to find it
There is no dedicated button in the studio. You install SwypeCast through the browser, on your phone as well as on your computer.
On iPhone or iPad
- Sign in to the studio in Safari.
- Tap the share icon at the bottom (square with an arrow pointing up).
- Choose Add to Home Screen and confirm with Add.
On Android
- Sign in to the studio in Chrome.
- Tap the menu top right (three dots).
- Choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
On your computer
Open the studio in Chrome or Edge. An install icon appears on the right of the address bar. The studio then runs in its own window and can be pinned to the dock or taskbar.
Where the app starts
The app always starts in the studio, whether you install it from swypecast.com or from your organisation's address (for example your-name.swypecast.com). When you are signed in, you land straight in your organisation.
Where the browser supports it, a long press on the studio app's icon leads straight to the library, the stories or a new clip (the shortcuts are labelled in German: Bibliothek, Stories, Clip erstellen).
Without a connection
SwypeCast needs the network. If it drops, the app shows the No connection page (in German: «Keine Verbindung»). As soon as you are back online, you carry on. The app never keeps data or your sign-in in its cache, they always come fresh from the server.
Updates
The app is always up to date. There is nothing to update, each new version of SwypeCast arrives on its own the next time you open it.
